With the new regulation changes we now have a very unique hunting opportunity: Late season trophy elk hunting with a muzzleloader.
This hunt is in my opinion (Robert Gary, owner/outfitter) the best opportunity in the country for trophy bulls without having to wait 20 years to draw a tag. This is a 10 day hunt in mid December, when the snows have started to pile up and weeks of no pressure will have these bulls on their feet and out in the open. We specifically target bulls in the 300”+ range. These hunts are only being offered on a 1x1 basis to ensure every client a reasonable opportunity at a trophy class bull.
Hunters must be proficient with a traditional muzzleloader out to 100-150 yards for optimal success on this hunt.
Wolves can be hunted for no additional fee.
Hunters must apply for Elk Permit 270-45.
Our elk hunts take place in one of the largest migration areas in the state of Montana. Roughly 4000 elk from the surrounding areas descend onto their winter range every year. When the snow piles up later in the season, this can truly be world class elk hunting. This hunt can be tailored for nearly every client. From the first time elk hunter to the trophy hunter looking for the bull of a lifetime.
New regulations allow for unique late-season trophy elk hunts in December. Target bulls in the 300”+ range during a 10-day, low-pressure season when snow drives them into open terrain.
Dates: December 10–19
